Cornerstone Counseling center offers a variety of outpatient substance abuse counseling services.  Both standard and intensive outpatient substance abuse treatments are available.  Outpatient treatment gives the client the opportunity to receive treatment; but still remain at home, at work and active in the community.

One program available is the Mothers and Children’s Intensive Outpatient Treatment
This service treats women and children.  The women suffer from severe substance abuse problems. Their children, age three to eight, suffer from trauma and neglect as a result of the general family dysfunction caused by substance abuse. Mothers attend sessions a minimum of nine hours a week for ten weeks, which address substance abuse reduction, relapse prevention, parenting skills training, self-management strategies and vocational issues. They then transition to eight weeks of standard treatment.  Children receive six hours a week of counseling designed to reduce the risk of present and future substance abuse, relieve family stress, improve social and coping skills, and foster healthier parent-child and peer interactions.

When not in counseling, children are cared for in Cornerstone Counseling Center’s free Childcare facility.
