Prevention services represent a continuum of drug and violence prevention trainings offered to students as they progress from elementary to junior high school.  Programs are based on a thorough research of current literature.  Prevention interventions are developed which address developmental, environmental, and social factors appropriate for each age level and are carefully evaluated to assess their effectiveness.  Programs focus on increasing protective factors such as life skills for youth and their families including:  peer-social relations, school adjustment and success, healthy lifestyles, decision making, parenting skills, personal self-management skills and opportunities for pro-social involvement.  Early intervention, demonstrated effectiveness, and family involvement make these award-winning programs unique.
